Reynolds Campaign 2010 Kickoff Event

Genesis Baptist Church
2812 E. Bessemer St.
Greensboro, NC

Join us to hear FLOC Founder and President Baldemar Velasquez speak about his 40 years of experience organizing migrant farmworkers and the significance of organizing tobacco farmworkers in the South. Our brothers from the Beloved Community Center will also speak about the need for broad community support in the struggle for justice.

2010 marks the third year of FLOC's campaign to secure better living and working conditions for North Carolina tobacco farmworkers and give workers a voice in the workplace. Reynolds American, one of the largest tobacco companies in the US, still refuses to meet with the farmworkers who harvest the tobacco that makes their company rich.

Continue the struggle in 2010 and show Reynolds that we won't give up!

This year, hundreds of FLOC members and supporters will once again gather outside of the Reynolds shareholder meeting in May to tell Reynolds to meet with the farmworkers that harvest their tobacco. We need everyone's help in organizing a successful demonstration.

Come meet President Velasquez and help continue to build the momentum of the campaign in 2010. Join us for drinks, appetizers, and entertainment before the meeting from 5:30-6:00. For more information or if you are interested in carpooling from the Triangle area, contact us at
