From AZ to NC: March for Immigrant Justice
Thursday, July 29, 2010
On Thursday, July 29, Arizona’s anti-immigrant law SB 1070 is still set to take effect. Join NC ICE Watch this Thursday as we gather in Raleigh and Charlotte in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Arizona and against racial profiling here in NC.
Raleigh: Gather at 5 PM at Nash Square (corner of W. Martin & S. Dawson,
Raleigh), march to the State Capitol or join us there for a rally at 6 PM.

As the anti-immigrant policy coming out of Arizona garners international media attention, many states such as North Carolina have implemented similar policies that lead to racial profiling and targeting of immigrant communities by local law enforcement. Programs such as 287(g) and “Secured Communities” have had disastrous effects on local communities, while doing nothing to decrease crime rates. It is time to say no to SB 1070 and no to all programs that lead to racial profiling and the separation of families!
FLOC is part of the NC ICE Watch coalition, which consists of organizations seeking to expose and end unjust practices in the immigrant detention and deportation systems and promote safer communities for all people of North Carolina.
