The Class of 2017 techniques In! Bike racks are all occupied. Lines are a bit that is little again to obtain food. Books are being purchased. Tools are put away and summer time construction has dwindled down (well, nearly all of it). Cars filled with boxes of garments and school materials are increasingly being directed around campus to residential halls. Going carts, student ID cards, and last minute trips to Target; folks, its officially Move-In time.
As I had been walking the campus to take some pictures, I happened to be overwhelmed by the power of the campus. Often we forget that I work at a university campus filled with dreamers, innovators, and future global leaders. I found myself simply using it all in while smiling at pupils and parents I have never met before. ( It may have been just a little weird, but hey, I became caught in a moment). Suddenly, I desired to travel back in its history, go back in to college and experience this all over again!
Yesterday early morning, I saw the look of excitement and awe on the faces of first-year students as these were entering their dorms for the time that is first. Subsequently, we sensed a great quantity of pride and a little bit of hesitation from parents as they struggled to allow their young ones go. It is apparent that this brief moment is a milestone in all of their lives.
